University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said on Friday that the collaborative efforts on the part of agriculture researchers are imperative to provide tangible solution to the problems of agriculture sector and ensure food security. While addressing the closing-ceremony of “Capacity Building and Professional Development Workshop (CB&PDW)” arranged by the Directorate of Academics and Teaching Resource Centre, UAF, he said that workshops were being organised on a regular basis to enhance the capacity building of teaching and non-teaching staff, so that the affairs of the university could be run efficiently. The VC said that research work should be carried out keeping the problems of the farmers in view in order to enhance yield and make agriculture a profitable sector. He said that all-out efforts were being made to bring the programmes at UAF in line with the international standards. He urged the agricultural scientists to find local solutions to the problems of the farmers keeping in view the ground realities. Published in The Express Tribune, January 1st, 2022.
