A minor girl was raped while another thwarted an assault by crying for help. Police arrested the suspects and registered cases against them. A complainant told the police that his young sister was alone at home when suspect Umair Akram forcibly entered the house and raped her at gunpoint. He told police that the suspect managed to escape from the roof of the house. He said the suspect had threatened to kill the victim. The police registered a case under Section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and launched a search for the suspect nominated by the complainant. Meanwhile, another minor girl escaped a rape attempt by making noise. Read Rape victim’s avowal in isolation ample for conviction Reportedly, the eight-year-old girl went to suspect Imran Walid Sharif’s shop near Chohar Majra in Ghulam Muhammadabad to buy something when he allegedly tried to rape her. However, the minor girl foiled the attempt by crying for help. People of the neighbourhood gathered at the spot and handed over the suspect to Ghulam Muhammadabad police.
