The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for election on the Senate seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that fell vacant due to the resignation of Ayub Afridi from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Afridi had last week resigned from the Senate to make way for the election of PM’s Adviser on Finance Shaukat Tarin as a member of Parliament. According to a notification issued by the electoral body on Monday, the polling for the vacant seat will take place on December 20 in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly. The list of candidates submitting papers will be released on December 3 and the appeals can be filed by December 8. The tribunal will then give a decision on appeals by December 10.
