The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has restrained an accountability court from indicting Asif Ali Zardari in a NAB reference pertaining to suspicious banking transactions amounting to Rs8 billion. An IHC bench comprising Chief Justice Athar Minullah and Justice Amir Farooq heard the plea filed on behalf of the former president in which the petitioner had challenged the court's decision to reject the acquittal in the NAB reference. Read More: IHC to hear Zardari’s bail plea today Zardari's lawyer Farooq H Naek appeared in the court and maintained that the accountability court has fixed the date for Zardari's indictment on October 28 (today) but if the charges are framed in the hearing then the petition will be ineffective. The counsel demanded a restraining order on the accountability court's order dated October 14. The court granted the petition and issued a notice to NAB seeking its reply by November 4.
