The owner of Therapy Works, Dr Tahir Zahoor Ahmed, has submitted an application to a district and sessions court in Islamabad for the registration of a criminal case against Zahir Jaffer and his parents. Additional District and Sessions Judge Adnan Khan on Wednesday fixed the hearing of the case for final arguments on September 7. During the hearing, a police officer appeared in the court owing to the absence of Investigation Officer (IO) Abdul Sattar Khan. He informed the court that the IO was in Lahore and requested the court to fix the hearing on another date. Meanwhile, the petitioner’s lawyer said that the Kohsar police has not taken their version of the events into account since day one. He stated that Zahir stabbed Amjad and injured him but the police made his client a suspect. He added that a complaint was lodged against Zahir and his parents Zakir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee but the police did not register a case. Read Zahir’s judicial remand extended until Sept 6 The lawyer further said that Dr Ahmed wrote in the complaint that he received a call from Zakir around 7 pm on July 20. The father told him that his son’s condition was not good and asked Dr Ahmed to send a medical team to admit the son into a hospital. The petitioner said he sent a team that was informed by the suspect's domestic workers that he was alone in a room which he has locked. He stated that the suspect had a pistol and a knife, adding that the suspect tried to fire at the workers but failed in both attempts, however, he stabbed Amjad with the knife. His lawyer said that Zahir then grasped the employee and was threatening to jump out of the window with him. The counsel stated that when the therapy service employees controlled the suspect, they witnessed a severed body inside. Published in The Express Tribune, September 2nd, 2021.
