At least four people were killed while 13 passengers, including a five-year-old girl and a woman, were injured in two traffic accidents in Dijkot on Wednesday. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital after medical aid. According to the police report, a passenger wagon travelling from Faisalabad to Okara near Satiana Road 76 Ada was hit by a tractor-trolley number which was coming from Satiana to Faisalabad when the driver of the tractor-trolley negligently hit passenger wagon. As a result, 12 passengers including Shahid Hussain Shah, Ahmad Nawaz, Nadeem Zafar, Vikram Hassan, Zeeshan, five-year-old Alina, 32-year-old Bashiran Bibi, Rashid, Shakeel Ahmed and others were injured. They were shifted to Civil Hospital after receiving medical aid where 35-year-old wagon driver Nasir Abdul Haq, 40-year-old Shahid Hussain succumbed to the injuries. The police station reached the spot and handed over the bodies of the two deceased to their heirs after taking necessary action. A case has been registered against the tractor-trailer driver on the statement of Ibad Ali. Separately, the driver of a speeding vehicle near Arifwala Road Manianwala Gutwala crushed three motorcyclists on Zee Garden Sheikhupura Road. As a result, 45-year-old Imran Saleem, resident of Islamnagar and 50-year-old Ziaul Haq, a resident of Shamsabad died on the spot. Published in The Express Tribune, May 6th, 2021.
