Jhelum Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rao Pervez Akhtar has said that action is being taken against inflation, hoarding and land mafia in the district. He said this while addressing a meeting of district administration officials. The DC said that for the timely completion of ongoing development schemes in Jhelum district, all relevant agencies should work together in a constructive manner and ensure the required pace of work. Similarly, action should be taken on daily basis to curb inflation and the availability of essential commodities at fixed prices should be ensured, he added. Moreover, Akhtar stressed that no leniency should be shown in ensuring the implementation of anti-Covid standard operating procedures issued by the Punjab government to curb the spread of the deadly virus. Punjab Assembly member Raja Yawar Kamal Khan, on the occasion, said that the incumbent government is trying to provide maximum relief to the citizens and, for this purpose, successful implementation of welfare schemes is being ensured.
