Estranged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen said on Monday Prime Minister Imran Khan had promised ensuring justice is delivered, saying it is time it was delivered. "Baseless allegations were levelled against me and now a new date is issued on every hearing," Tareen said while talking to the media after his appearance before a court in Lahore in the money laundering case. "I respect Ali Zafar [in-charge investigation] who made his effort to complete the report," he said and added, "We hoped that the report would be public by now, but that hasn't happened yet." The PTI leader further stated that, "It is being speculated that he [Zafar] has submitted the report to the premier, while it is also being said that the report is a positive one for me." "Prime Minister Imran Khan had promised that justice will be delivered, and so it should be delivered now," he remarked. "Provide justice and don't indulge in politics," the PTI leader stated. Referring to the registration of a case against one of his aides, Tareen said, "The situation deteriorated when a case was registered against Nazir Chohan." Earlier, upon being inquired by the learned judge of the court, deputy director FIA, referring to the transfer of the investigation officer, said that changes had been made to the entire agency. However, the judge asked how could a DG or anyone else transfer an investigation officer. Subsequently, the court issued a show-cause notice to the officer who transferred the IO, and adjourned the hearing of Jahangir and Ali Tareen's case till June 11. Last week, on May 24, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said Prime Minister Imran Khan neither wanted revenge from Tareen, nor will give he be given any concession. "Prime minister's struggle spanning 22 years isn't against one person; we go by the name of justice and we believe in justice," Umar said while addressing a ceremony in Ghotki today. The minister claimed that the law is equal for both the powerful and the weak in the society. Umar stated that the demands put forth by Tareen group were 'simple' and that they have deliberated upon.
