Deputy Commissioner Multan Ali Shehzad on Thursday said while chairing a team that a five-day polio vaccination drive will commence in the city from March 29. Over 900,000 children under five years of age will be vaccinated. The vaccination will be carried out through 2,408 teams thaty will be deployed in different areas of the district. At least a total of 476 area in-charges and 140 UMCOs have been designated to monitor the upcoming campaign in the targeted areas. Deputy Commissioner vowed zero tolerance for any negligence on part of officials concerned. He termed detecting samples of poliovirus from sewerage disposal as a challenge.
