Punjab University has awarded PhD degrees to five scholars including three women after their theses were approved by their supervisors. Nusrat Majeed was granted a PhD degree in Zoology after approval of her thesis titled ‘Taxonomic Studies and DNA Barcode Reference Library for Salticids from Pakistan’ whereas Saima Liaqat’s was awarded a PhD degree in Economics when her thesis on ‘Impact of External Financial Assistance on Fiscal Aggregates and Economic Growth: Evidence from Selected Asian Countries’ was approved. Moreover, Riffat Rafique was awarded a PhD in Urdu following the acceptance of her thesis on ‘Globalisation and Urdu Novel’. In the field of Chemical Engineering, Sheraz Ahmed Qureshi bagged a PhD degree after a successful thesis submission on ‘Development of Dirt and Algae Resistive Latex Facade Paint’. The fifth PhD degree was conferred on Mohsin Tassawar in the subject of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Published in The Express Tribune, February 9th, 2021.
