Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs (HR&MA) Ejaz Alam Augustine has expressed the hope that the New Year would bring progress and prosperity for the country. Inaugurating the oneday New Year festival at Naulakha Church on Friday, he further said that the year would be a historic year for the country as many welfare schemes had been launched. “These welfare schemes will take the country to new heights of development.” He elaborated that the Constitution of Pakistan clearly stated protection of places of worship of religious minorities. The provincial government was working to provide various facilities to the religious minorities, the HRMA minister claimed.
