Police have registered a case against 15 suspects for torturing the chairman of the market committee of Jaranwala at a seminary allegedly for pinpointing drug trade. As many as 15 people had reportedly tortured the chairman market committee of Jaranwala, snatched his mobile phone and cash, and made a video of him after he made disclosures about narcotics trade in the area. After the video went viral on social media, police registered a case against 10 named and five unidentified suspects. They have started conducting raids to apprehend the assailants identified through the viral footage. Chairman Market Committee Jaranwala Mirza Arshad has filed a complaint in Jaranwala city police station, stating that he had identified the drug dealers operating in the area who were destroying the future of children, which resulted in an attack on him. Jaranwala city police registered a case against the suspected drug dealers. Mirza Arshad alleged that he was tortured with a pistol butt by Muzaffar alias Muzaffari, Sikandar Hayat alias Hayati, Khuzdar Hayat alias Kachchi, Riyasat alias Riyasati, Moazzam, Malik Danish, Akmal alias Akmali, Baily, Qadeer, Nasrullah alias Nachhi and others inside Madrasa Amina, Jaranwala Road. He also claimed that the assailants snatched his watch worth Rs200,000, mobile phone worth more than Rs100,000 and cash. The complainant added that the suspects dragged him to the highway after the students gathered inside the seminary and made a video of him whilst attacking him. After the video of the incident went viral on social media, the police registered a case against the suspects under various relevant sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and started raids to arrest them.
