Covid-19 claims two more lives in Punjab

The coronavirus pandemic claimed two more lives in Punjab while the number of coronavirus cases in the province exceeded 101,300 after registration of 130 new cases on Friday.

According to the spokesperson of Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), so far the total number of deaths had been recorded at 2,283 altogether.

The P&SHD confirmed that 69 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Lahore, one in Nankana Sahib, two in Kasur, three in Sheikhupura, one in Gujrat, 13 in Multan and one virus case in Faisalabad. Moreover, one virus case was reported in Jhelum, one in Gujranwala, two in Attock, two in Vehari, one in Bahawalpur, one in Khanewal, one in Bahawalnagar and two new virus cases were reported in Dera Ghazi Khan districts during the last 24 hours.

The health department had conducted 1,420,471 tests for Covid-19 so far while 97,002 confirmed cases recovered in the province. The officials also appealed to the citizens to adopt SOPs for their protection and cover their faces with masks. The people should wash their hands several times in a day to protect themselves from Covid-19, they added.
