Covid-19 claims six more lives in Punjab

The coronavirus pandemic claimed six more lives in the province over the last 24 hours. As per details, the total number of Covid-19 cases in the province exceeded 101,010 after registration of 122 new cases.

According to the spokesperson for Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, the total number of deaths was 2,270 in the province.

The health department confirmed that 71 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the provincial capital, four new cases in Nankana Sahib, one in Kasur, one in Sheikhupura, 10 in Rawalpindi, one in Gujrat, one in Mandi Bahauddin, one in Vehari, two in Sialkot, 12 in Multan and five new cases in Faisalabad.

Punjab health department had conducted more than 1,408,864 tests for Covid-19 so far, while at least 96,972 confirmed cases had recovered all together in the province. The health department officials also appealed to the citizens to adopt government-mandated SOPs for their protection and cover their faces with masks. Department officials stated the people should wash their hands with soap several times in a day to protect themselves from the contagion. Helpline 1033 should be contacted immediately on symptoms of coronavirus, department officials urged.
