KARACHI: An Indian airplane made an emergency landing at the Jinnah International Airport Karachi after, a man passed away while flying from Sharjah to Lucknow, ARY News reported, citing sources.
The pilot of an Indian airliner had to force the plane to make an emergency landing to deal with the situation at hand. The pilot sought permission from the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) after communicating the situation and later was allowed to land.
Flight no 6E 1412 made an emergency landing around 5 in the morning today.
According to the sources within the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) the passenger expired before getting first aid after the landing.
The flight took off at 8.36 am to its destination after ensuring important measures.
Yesterday, an air ambulance had made a technical landing at Islamabad International Airport after taking off from Kolkata to Azerbaijan, said sources.

A controlled explosion of an undetonated World War II bomb was carried out near a British university after evacuating 2,600 properties.
The World War II bomb had been discovered by crews at a construction site near the University of Exeter which was detonated by concerned authorities in Britain.
Devon and Cornwall Police said Royal Navy bomb disposal teams were summoned to the area Friday morning to inspect the suspected explosive device from WWII.
Police confirmed that the object was a German SC 1000 Sprengbombe, commonly known as a Hermann Bomb.
Following the confirmation, the Royal Army evacuated the school and 2,600 nearby properties Saturday to allow bomb disposal experts for conducting a controlled explosion of the 1,000kg-heavy bomb.
The witnesses told local media that the explosion could be heard from several miles away when the WWII bomb was detonated at 6:10 pm Saturday.
No injuries were reported, however, some residents reported they returned to their homes to find windows had been shattered by the blast.
According to DevonLive, Exeter was struck by bombing raids in several different phases of the Second World War – with early raids in 1940 killing no souls except a canary and several chickens, according to a news report at the time.
Where the first German bombing raids were devastating to industrial or military cities like Plymouth and London – destroying cities of historic value, and no strategic significance, like Exeter was contrary to Hitler’s plan for a Nazi Britain.
But after allied bombers caused a firestorm in the historic German city of Lübeck, the Nazis retaliated with 49 bombers on the night of April 23 1942. Cloudy conditions meant they missed most of their targets but still killed five people.
The following night, 40 bombers raided the city during clearer conditions. 73 people were killed, and 54 more were injured mostly in the city centre and Pennsylvania.
The most devastating raid, though, was the night of May 3, 1942, when a 20-strong bombing raid levelled a large chunk of central Exeter.
After days of fires that were not fully controlled until May 7, the death toll reached 156, and 583 more were injured. This was also the raid that hit Exeter Cathedral, destroying St James’ Chapel, and the city’s library.
According to local history site Exeter Memories, it took 20 years for the city to fully rebuild after around 1,500 houses were destroyed – and a total of 265 lives lost.
The man put up resistance, following which the suspect opened fire. Alerted by firing, the police reached the spot in no time and caught the suspect, identified as Aamir Zeb.
Looted cash, a motorcycle and a pistol were recovered from the possession of the suspect.
He is a member of the gang involved in looting citizens withdrawing cash from banks, a police official said. He is a history-sheeter as four cases are registered against him at Ferozwala police station and had also been been to jail in 2016, the police said.
AHMEDPUR SHARQIA: Punjab police on Tuesday foiled an underage marriage in Ahmedpur Sharqia, Punjab, ARY News reported.
The underage marriage ceremony was being held in Gulzar Town in Ahmedpur Sharqia.
The police, however, raided the event after receiving information regarding the violation under provincial law restraining marriage before 18-year-old and arrested the would-be groom, his father and two witnesses.
Meanwhile, the Nikahkhuwan and other people fled the scene.
On December 18, police foiled a bid to marry a minor girl in Shikarpur to a 38-year-old man and arrested the father of the girl for his involvement.
According to police, an attempt was made to marry a 12-year-old girl in Shikarpur in violation of the provincial child marriages restraint act.
The police carried out the raid at the wedding ceremony and took custody of the minor girl. The father of the girl was also nabbed in the action while the groom and the prayer leader, who had to perform Nikkah ceremony, fled from the scene.
According to the police, the bride and his father would be presented before the court tomorrow and the parent could face upto three years in prison over facilitating the underage marriage.
WASHINGTON: The United States is expected to impose sanctions to punish Russia for the poisoning of Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny as early as Tuesday, two sources familiar with the matter said.
President Joe Biden’s decision to impose sanctions for Navalny’s poisoning reflects a harder stance than taken by his predecessor, Donald Trump, who let the incident last August pass without punitive U.S. action.
Navalny fell ill on a flight in Siberia in August and was airlifted to Germany, where doctors concluded he had been poisoned with a nerve agent. The Kremlin has denied any role in his illness and said it had seen no proof he was poisoned.
The sources said on Monday on condition of anonymity that the United States was expected to act under two executive orders: 13661, which was issued after Russia’s invasion of Crimea but provides broad authority to target Russian officials, and 13382, issued in 2005 to combat the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Both orders let the United States freeze the U.S. assets of those targeted and effectively bar U.S. companies and individuals from dealing with them.
The sources said the Biden administration also planned to act under the U.S. Chemical and Biological Weapons Control and Warfare Elimination Act of 1991, which provides a menu of punitive measures.
The sources said some individuals would be targeted in the sanctions to be announced as early as Tuesday, but declined to name them or say what other sanctions may be imposed.
They added, however, that Washington would maintain waivers allowing foreign aid and certain export licenses for Russia.
The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the possibility of sanctions.
A third source said the U.S. action may be coordinated with sanctions the European Union could apply as soon as Tuesday.
EU foreign ministers agreed on Feb. 22 to impose sanctions on four senior Russian officials close to President Vladimir Putin in a mainly symbolic response to Navalny’s jailing. The EU was expected to formally approve those in early March.
In the case of Navalny, Trump, whose term ended in January, did nothing to punish Russia. Top U.N. human rights experts said on Monday that Moscow was to blame for attempting to kill Navalny as part of a pattern of attacks on critics to quash dissent.
After his medical treatment in Germany, Navalny, 44, returned to Russia in January. He was arrested and later sentenced to more than 2-1/2 years in jail for parole violations he said were trumped up.
Biden last month called the jailing of Navalny “politically motivated” and called for his release. He has pledged a new and tough approach toward Moscow, saying the United States would no longer be “rolling over” in the face of aggressive action by Russia.
Washington and Moscow disagree on a wide range of issues on top of Navalny, such as Russia’s military ambitions in Ukraine and Georgia, as well as a cyberattack on U.S. government agencies last year that Washington blames on Russia. Moscow has denied responsibility for the hacking campaign.
TOKYO: Oil prices fell more than 1% on Tuesday, extending losses that began last week, as investors unwound long positions on concern that OPEC may agree to increase global supply in a meeting this week and Chinese demand may be slipping.
Brent crude dropped 78 cents, or 1.2%, to $62.91 a barrel by 0138 GMT, after losing 1.1% the previous day. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude slid 74 cents, or 1.2%, to $59.90 a barrel, having lost 1.4% on Monday.
Investors are worried the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies, a group known as OPEC+, will boost oil output, said Hiroyuki Kikukawa, general manager of research at Nissan Securities.
“Oil prices remained under pressure as investors were making position adjustments ahead of the OPEC meeting,” he said.
The group meets on Thursday and could discuss allowing as much as 1.5 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude back into the market.
OPEC oil output fell in February as a voluntary cut by Saudi Arabia added to reductions agreed to under the previous OPEC+ pact, a Reuters survey found, ending a run of seven consecutive monthly increases.
Market sentiment was also dampened by weak manufacturing data out of China, Nissan Securities’ Kikukawa said.
China’s factory activity growth slipped to a nine-month low in February, which may curtail Chinese crude demand and pressure oil prices.
SYDNEY: Boeing Co and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) said on Tuesday they had completed the first flight test on a pilotless fighter-like jet designed to operate in conjunction with crewed aircraft.
The “Loyal Wingman”, the first military aircraft to be designed and manufactured in Australia in more than 50 years, flew under the supervision of a Boeing test pilot monitoring it from a ground control station in South Australia.
The Australian government has invested A$40 million ($31 million) in development of the product, which Boeing last year said had also attracted interest from the United States and United Kingdom as potential future customers.
The Loyal Wingman is 38 feet long (11.6 metres), has a 2,000 nautical mile (3,704 km) range and a nose that can be removed to fit various payloads, including weapons. It can act as a shield to help protect more expensive manned fighter jets.
Defence contractors are investing increasingly in autonomous technology as militaries around the world look for cheaper and safer ways to maximise their resources.
“The Loyal Wingman project is a pathfinder for the integration of autonomous systems and artificial intelligence to create smart human-machine teams,” RAAF Air Vice-Marshal and Head of Air Force Capability Cath Roberts said in a statement.
During the test flight, the Loyal Wingman took off under its own power before flying a pre-determined route at different speeds and altitudes to verify its functionality and demonstrate the performance of the design.
The first Loyal Wingman is being used as a foundation for Boeing’s Airpower Teaming System, a service being developed for various global defence customers.
Boeing said additional Loyal Wingman aircraft are currently under development, with plans for teaming flights scheduled for later this year.
The plane maker has previously said up to 16 of the Loyal Wingman jets could be teamed with a crewed aircraft for missions.
