Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir said that while employees of the health department provide health facilities to Punjab’s citizens, it is important for them to be healthy and fit themselves. The minister observed this while inaugurating a health screening camp for over 500 Health Department staff on Friday. He added that it was the first-ever such camp that organised for the health screening of the health department personnel. Screening for diabetes, high blood pressure, hepatitis B and C, AIDS, TB, respiratory diseases and other ailments was conducted in the health camp. Eyes, teeth and ears were also examined, dietary advice was provided and immunisations were also being administered. It is necessary to organise such camps annually and conduct health screenings of employees of the department, the minister said. Published in The Express Tribune, July 15th, 2023.
