ASI martyred as terrorists target police vehicle in Swabi

Terrorists attacked a police vehicle with a hand grenade on Friday in Swabi district's Yar Hussain area, resulting in the martyrdom of Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) Sahir Khan and injuries to two other personnel. As per details, Sahir Khan and two other policemen were on duty in their vehicle at the Yar Hussain Bazaar, organised during the holy month of Ramazan, when they were attacked by terrorists. The incident took place when the officer was performing his duty to protect the lives and property of the people in the busy market before the Iftar meal. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of Sahir Khan, while the other two policemen sustained injuries. The two injured police constables were identified as Ijaz and Gul Naseeb, both belonging to Battagram area. A heavy contingent of police officials cordoned off the area following the attack while a search operation was initiated as per the orders of the district police officer (DPO) in Swabi. The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant group has accepted responsibility for the attack.
