Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has summoned the deputy commissioner of Faisalabad for not attending his phone calls made to know why he was not giving land for establishing a Rescue 1122 office. Opposition lawmakers on Monday condemned the official’s conduct and assured full support to the speaker. The conduct of the DC is tantamount to humiliating the speaker and the opposition will sand by the government whenever the dignity of the House will be questioned, PML-N’s MPA Khalil Tahir Sandhu said. The speaker said a member of the official staff had said that he was with a minister. When the minister was phoned, it was revealed that the official was not present with him.
