Polling for four vacant seats of the national and provincial assemblies in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are being held today. Seats of NA-75 Sialkot-IV, PP 51 Gujranwala-I, NA-45 Kurram-I and PK-63 Nowshera fell vacant due to the demise of the lawmakers. According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), polling will continue till 5 pm without any break. Foolproof security arrangements had been made to ensure polling is conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner. On February 16, polling for three seats of the Sindh and Balochistan assemblies in the constituencies of Malir, Sanghar, and Pishin concluded. The seats had fallen vacant after the demises of Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Ghulam Murtaza Baloch and Jam Madad Ali and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl 's (JUI-F) Syed Faza Agha.
