Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Ansar Majeed Khan has said the traders' community was the backbone of the country’s economy. “The community plays an active role in the country's development to increase the growth rate and curb inflation.” He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony for issuance of Notification for Traders Zone Wing Metropolitan Sargodha on Wednesday. PTI District President Ansar Iqbal Harl, President Chamber of Commerce Malik Asif Amir Awan, Sargodha President Traders Wing Muhammad Arshad Mahmood and representative of traders were present on the occasion. The provincial minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government was strengthening the institutions and shifting them to automatic system which would eliminate political influence from these institutions. He added that they would be dedicated only to public service. He further said, “The rehabilitation of traders' wings will help in resolving regional issues and formulating development plans.” He remarked that the Pakistan Democratic Movement was nothing but a noisy campaign and spreading coronavirus among the people by violating Covid-19 SOPs. The government was working for the betterment of the economy, he claimed. Published in The Express Tribune, December 24th, 2020.
