Officials warned against funds lapse

Provincial Minister for Energy Dr Akhtar Malik said on Sunday that the official concerned would be held responsible if the funds released for any project lapse at the end of the ongoing fiscal year.

Presiding over a meeting, he said billions of rupee had been released for development projects in the district and they should be completed on time so that their benefits reach the people.

Warning officials against letting the funds of any project lapse, the minister urged local parliamentarians to monitor the pace and quality of work in ongoing projects.

It participants were informed that Rs6.49 billion had been released for 173 projects under the Annual Development Programme, Rs1.53 billion for 219 projects under community development programme and Rs1.26 billion for 695 projects under Social Action Programme. The construction of five roads at a cost of Rs350 million has been completed under the rural access programme phase-I.
